   Meeting new Dhamma Friends and Students  is part of monastic life. AND the pleasure of reteaching a person how to SMILE in life !


 

Ruth Denison, out in joshua Tree. CA  has listened to Ven. Bhante Vimalaramsi and Sister Khema give Sutta teachings for the past 4 years now. She is absolutely delighted with how clear it makes EVERYTHING.


Ubhasa has reclaimed her smile and now gives it away to others on a regular basis.

Chris Colella traveled from Pittsburg, PA to give ear to the Buddha in the traditional way.


 

Wiley Nelson came from Pittsburg, PA to find a REAL teacher he could talk with openly and get straight answers from. He's coming back!

Drew Litchy from Portland, Oregon stops to watch the building crew working...

Gavin Tough, from the Netherlands,  attended an introductory  retreat in Germany ( Early 2009)  and then traveled to the center for 3 weeks of training. The change in him was remarkable.

 

Chitra Ratnayake, A Sri Lankan Research Scientist traveled from California to train with Bhante following the death of her parents. She was so taken by the clearness of what Buddhism actually is, she is arranging a retreat in Annaheim, CA for the entire Sri Lankan Community in that area. He smile came out and she is very balanced now.

24 people attended the 4th Joshua Tree Retreat in joshua Tree, CA Spring of 2009. Many have since come to the center to study and some are now preparing to teach the practice is other locations. A training program for teachers is in the works now because of the worldwide demand.

Jude is a Catholic History Teacher in a scool in Harrisburg, PA. He found at the center what he called the REAL DEAL! He won't be going back to Burma again now to study. He has been to the center three times so far.
 


Vinny came in from NYC. He helped with building and built a walking path for Venerable from his kuti to the old house for when it rains... He found out what meditation really was and how it can be integrated into life. He got much happier and now works a really good job back hom with more confidence!
